
Possible military intervention in Ivory Coast
A leading adviser to outgoing President Ivorian Laurent Gbagbo told the BBC he did not think an army of the countries of West Africa will intervene in his country.

Last week a senior officer of the Nigerian military had said that the armies of West Africa were ready to intervene in Ivory Coast Laurent Gbagbo to force from power. “General Olusegun Petinrin added that the troops were awaiting instructions from the Heads of State to restore democracy in Ivory Coast.” Nigeria currently chairs ECOWAS… The African Union mediator for Ivory Coast, Kenya Prime Minister Raila Odinga has appealed to African leaders to it hardens their position to Mr. Gbagbo.
